This year’s Brazilian Days Festival will be held on September 7, 2014 on Garnet Avenue from 11 a.m. to 7p.m. The event is held each year to showcase all the beautiful music, dance, literature and folklore that is so a part of the Brazilian culture. This is a family friendly event and alcohol will not be served.

As the premier event of the season, the Brazilian Days Festival attracts over 50,000 people each year who come out to enjoy the colorful parade. This year there will be two stages featuring live performances, along with a fun children’s area and a food court where festival-goers can sample various types of delicious Brazilian cuisine.

The annual Brazilian event is organized and sponsored by Paulo Batuta and the Brazilian Institute for Arts and Culture, a non-profit organization. One of its primary purposes is to expose the people of San Diego to the ancient traditions of Brazil, the Brazilian lifestyle and the Portuguese language. Artisans and attendees come from all over the world each year to attend the free event.

Event organizer Paulo Batuta had this to say: “We are truly looking forward to this year’s Brazilian Days Festival and have many special events planned. Our theme is ‘Bringing the Spirit of Brazil to the Heart of San Diego’ and we’re expecting over 50,000 people to attend.”

This year there will be over 100 vendors, an exciting Children’s Zone, a food court and music featuring vibrant percussion and lively dance groups. The parade will feature many colorful floats and Brazilian music.

The Brazilian Days San Diego Festival is designed to enrich the community by showcasing the best and most beautiful music, literature, folklore, dance, and capoeira of the Brazilian culture. It offers non-stop fun and entertainment in a Carnival-style venue and has become known for its vibrant atmosphere that brings together young and old alike.

Event organizers have partnered with Hampton Inn San Diego Sea World/Airport area to provide low Brazilian Day special rates on accommodations. The event is advertised in local radio and TV ads, social media marketing, email marketing, and many other outreaches.
