The breakout session, “Key Efforts in Open-Source SDN,” will explore recent trends in SDN open-source scalability and functionality, as well as how carriers are expanding open-source functionality to new use-cases.

WHO: Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream. Sharon conceived of and began ConteXtream in 2006 after a career spent founding and managing highly successful technology companies. Before ConteXtream, he was founder & CEO of Xeround Systems, which developed an innovative map-reduce approach to performance and scalability. Prior to Xeround, Sharon was founder and CEO of Sheer Networks (acquired by Cisco in 2005) that developed a highly successful control & management plane for Consumer Broadband networks, which was adopted by Tier 1 Operators worldwide. Sharon began his career in engineering at 3Com. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Hebrew University, and an MSc from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.
