LONDON (PRWEB UK) 14 May 2015

Ixxus, the world-leading systems integrator and global MarkLogic partner and reseller, today announced that it has enabled easy integration of MarkLogic with third-party content and repositories tools via full CMIS compatibility.

CMIS is an industry standard that unifies content repositories and enables easy integration for a wide range of existing repository types and tools. Ixxus has introduced CMIS compatibility to MarkLogic’s enterprise NoSQL database to enable seamless integration of CMIS-friendly clients and servers, including vendor-specific products like Drupal and Pentaho.

“The CMIS standard is an important strategic element for companies looking to make access to data as seamless as possible,” said Steve Odart, CEO of Ixxus, “Perhaps most impactful of all, by making MarkLogic a CMIS-enabled server, you also turn it into a legitimate enterprise-class CMS in a stroke.”

“As one of the longest-standing MarkLogic partner s in the world, we are proud to make this valuable contribution to its application potential.”

CMIS-compliance represents a huge step forward for MarkLogic, allowing the technology to play in a wider IT systems landscape and enjoy a range of new capabilities and use-cases previously closed to it.

This includes tools such as Pentaho Analytics, Desktop Sync, CMS Explorer, ETL & Migration and Federated Search.

“The latest compliance level for the Ixxus CMIS-MarkLogic connector puts it in first place – meaning this could be the most compliant CMIS server in the world,” said Tom Morris, CTO at Ixxus, whose team implemented the CMIS standard. The OASIS standards body publishes CMIS as an approved standard, for which the Apache Software Foundation‘s ‘Chemistry’ project has a corresponding compatibility test kit for reporting a level of adherence. According to the scoring calculation devised by the open project http://cmissync.org/CmisCompat/, the Ixxus CMIS-MarkLogic server is currently in first place.

About CMIS

OASIS Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) is broadly adopted open standard that enables information to be shared across Enterprise Content Management (ECM) repositories from different vendors. CMIS frees content trapped in traditional “content silos” and facilitates “content in the cloud” and mobile computing. The standard is designed to be easily layered on top of most content management systems to provide a common interface for generic content management functions.
