MAP Health Management, LLC, a provider of outcome data, post-treatment peer recovery support programs and revenue cycle management for addiction treatment facilities, announced today that Kerby Stewart, M.D., has joined the company as a Clinical Director. Dr. Stewart will provide clinical oversight to the MAP Recovery Support division, a post-discharge telephone and videoconference-based recovery support system for adults, adolescents and their families who seek to achieve long-term recovery from chemical dependency.

Most recently Dr. Stewart was the Clinical Coordinator for Substance Abuse Programs at the Texas Department of State Health Services, where he focused on the implementation of evidence-based practices in both substance abuse treatment and long-term recovery support services. He has practiced Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine. In addition, he was an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Austin Academy of Integrative and Oriental Medicine. Dr. Stewart has been associated with the field of Addiction Medicine since working as a volunteer in 1981 at the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic in San Francisco.

Dr. Stewart is a founding member of the American Board of Holistic Medicine and was the recent director of the Texas Recovery Initiative task force, which is a statewide project dedicated to implementing Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine.
