Mount Sinai Beth Israel has reopened its newly renovated Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU).

The new, state-of-the-art, 10-bed unit, located on the first floor of the Silver Building at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, has been renovated with the latest advanced technology and modernized construction updates, including new ceilings, flooring, and ambient lighting.

“This is just one example of Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s investment in and expansion of Cardiovascular Surgery services at the hospital under the leadership of the newly recruited Chair of Cardiovascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Dr. John D. Puskas,” says Susan Somerville, RN, President of Mount Sinai Beth Israel who hosted the special ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 11.

Both Dr. Puskas and Robert F. Tranbaugh, MD, Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, will lead the CSICU.

“Our dedicated staff of nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, cardiac anesthesiologists, and cardiac surgeons are committed to providing world-class care for patients and families in this new bright and beautiful CSICU facility,” says Dr. Puskas, Chair of Cardiovascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
