The Population Health Alliance (PHA) announced today that William Emmet, executive director of The Kennedy Forum will present during the PHA Forum, Dec. 10-12 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Emmet and The Kennedy Forum are committed to rallying the health care system around creating a new standard for mental health care in the United States. Emmet will share his expertise as part of the Visionary Speakers Series as he presents on the topic, “Opportunities and Challenges Associated with Mental Health Parity,” on Thursday, Dec. 11 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Emmet’s presentation will address the key challenges associated with treating populations with mental health and substance abuse issues, while highlighting recent and future efforts to integrate general medicine and behavioral specialty systems to improve clinical and financial outcomes.

The PHA Forum expects to draw 800 people, including employers, health plan executives, population health management companies, disease management experts, and medical directors for three days of education, networking and fun.

“Mental health issues, such as depression, contribute significantly to an individual’s health status, job performance and overall quality of life,” said PHA executive director, Fred Goldstein. “The Kennedy Forum is a leading source for mental health information and advocacy, and it is an honor to present William Emmet and his expertise to Forum attendees.”

The PHA Forum offers a variety of activities for employers and wellness professionals, including four concurrent education tracks, a wide variety of expert speakers, an Executive Leadership Institute, walking learning labs and an innovators forum.
