“Twenty Grand, A Love Story” – the Last Word in Southern Noir Fiction

Memphis, Tennessee (PRWEB) April 20, 2015

Wild Caught Press (http://www.wildcaughtpress.com) publishes “Twenty Grand, A Love Story” on April 21. This first book from Austin McLellan is a riveting tale of blackmail, greed and ambition.

“Twenty Grand” opens as a murder mystery, but quickly becomes a tense, moving drama about faith and loss, class and race, love and betrayal —and finally, justice. Written in the style of a contemporary noir, Austin McLellan creates a rich, mythological world infused with the gritty realism of the modern city.

Wealthy businessmen, spurned wives, desperate lawyers, street people, faded aristocrats, tough cops, and an unlicensed PI inhabit a troubled landscape of conflict and desire. Driven by their own precarious situations, the desperate characters in “Twenty Grand” inspire respect, sympathy, even horror. Sharp dialogue and a vivid sense of place complete this outstanding debut effort.
