The National Association of Professional Women honors Bambi Layne Njamfa as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in environmental sustainability. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

Bambi Njamfa is a trained analytical validation chemist and an avid recyclist and ecologist. As a child she spent many happy years visiting her grandparents’ farm where respect for the environment and recycling was a way of life. Nothing went to waste. Egg cartons were used to start seedlings for the garden each year and clothing would be passed down through generations. It was in this wholesome environment that Ms. Njamfa’s values and beliefs were formed. By the time she entered college, she continued to view her clothes as things of value and began redesigning them into reincarnated versions of their former selves while pursuing her career in biotechnology.

Ms. Njamfa’s first position after college graduation was at Life Technologies as a Customer Service Biotechnology Specialist. She later joined Bristol-Meyers Squibb as a Chemical Technician. She also worked as an Analyst for Occidental Chemical, a Chemist II at Genzyme and a Technical Assistant Manager and Business Development for LabMetrix Technologies.

Presently, Ms. Njamfa is the Sustainability Manager at NC Finances & NC-Finances, Ltd. She incorporates her expertise in chemistry sustainability and evaluation for green building, critiquing environmental sustainability while planning for financed humanitarian projects, including B.Layne Creations, which specializes in beautiful, sustainable fashions. B.Layne Creations is an enormous supporter and fan of the Patagonia and North Face labels because of their contributions to eco-friendly wear. Her book, Eco-Transformations: An Up-Scaled Sustainable Lifestyle from L.A. to Paris and Back Again, is scheduled to be released November 2014.
