Three managing directors and a principal join the firm with proven experience in client growth, strategy and operations.

Managing Director Bulend Corbacioglu (Denver) joins the firm after 20 years as a consultant, principal investor and senior executive building global market leaders and making businesses more valuable. As a consultant with Bain & Co. and A.T. Kearney he helped private equity firms and corporations in acquisitions and strategic integration projects to deliver step-change performance improvements and increased values. As a principal investor, he worked on over 100 investing opportunities totaling more than $ 20 billion, helping investors realize significant returns. As a senior executive with Covidien, Danaher Corporation and other serial acquirers he was responsible for merger and acquisition activities, building strategic platforms, integrating acquired companies and building profitable businesses. Bulend holds an MBA from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Bogazici University and a Master of Science from Harvard University.

Nina Owens (New York), another new Managing Director, has led businesses and consulted to many of the top national banks, financial services and payments providers in the Americas and EMEA over the past 20 years. Most recently, she led the strategy groups for the offices of the Chairman and Vice Chairman at American Express. She created and launched Partner Advantage, a business focused on driving revenues and profitability growth for American Express bank partners globally. Nina was also a founding leader of MasterCard Advisors, where she successfully launched the global Payments Strategy and Processing Innovation practices. Nina served financial clients globally as an engagement leader at Bain & Co. At Ernst & Young’s Strategic Advisory Services, Nina worked with startup to late stage companies in the E&Y incubator, helping them develop growth plans, build their businesses, execute go-to-market,sales and marketing, and secure financing. Nina earned her B.A. in Economics from Harvard University, where she concentrated in international economics, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

During his 30 year career, new Managing Director Richard Saettone (Houston) has led, helped capitalize, grow and improve the performance of private and public sector companies in the United States and Latin America. Prior to joining Blue Ridge Partners, Richard co-founded Access SEAF, a Latin America-focused private equity and mezzanine fund. He was also the founder of Cascade Hydro Ltd. and Andean Mining Corporation (UK). Since the mid-1990s, he has served as CEO and successfully led the turnaround of companies in the manufacturing, oilfield services and consumer durables retailing sectors in the US and Latin America. Earlier in his career, Richard worked as an engineer in the oil and gas industry in northern Peru and as a consultant with McKinsey & Company where he provided strategic and operational advice to major companies in the natural resources and chemicals sectors. As an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co., he executed equity and debt capital transactions for a number of domestic and international energy companies. Richard holds an MBA with highest honors from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Erik Hällström (Washington D.C.) joins the firm as a Principal with over 15 years of experience developing and managing growth strategies internationally for both multinational companies and emerging firms in technology, media, energy, services and industrial and consumer goods. He has held a series of senior management roles, including as head of strategy & business development at WorldSpace Satellite Radio, COO of Lightbridge, US co-head of Inzenka and CEO of Snipp Interactive. Erik began his business career with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Europe and North America after serving his native Sweden as a diplomat and an officer in the armed forces. He received MSc degrees from the Stockholm School of Economics (finance) and The Royal Institute of Technology (applied mathematics). Erik completed his MBA with Distinction at INSEAD in France.
