This July, the City of Schertz Library is hosting a number of events for all ages and interests. These events cover a variety of topics, including technology, science and creativity. The schedule of events is as follows:

Seniors – There’s an App for That

This program is designed for seniors who have tablets and mobile devices. The program will discuss applications that will assist seniors with gaming, social networking, education, finance, health and much more. Attend the program at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday July 15. Pre-registration required.

TED Talks Lunch & Learn

Bring a lunch and watch two different TED Talks related to science. The TED Talk lunch & learn events will be held at 12 p.m. July 22 and 29. Pre-registration not required. National Geographic Film Series

This summer is all about science at the library! At 3 p.m. on July 11 and 2 p.m. on July 18, the library will be showing the National Geographic films titled “Inside the Living Body” and “Alien Deep.” Pre-registration not required. For specific details, please check the online library calendar.

Chemistry Roadshow

Texas A&M University presents the Chemistry Roadshow. The goals of this chemistry program are twofold: the chemists will attempt to educate and entertain. Be prepared for a “program full of fire, smoke, and things that ooze.” This program is free and open to the public. Attend the program at 1 p.m. Friday, July 11 at the Schertz Community Center.

Lego Design Contest

Our annual Lego Design Contest asks participants to imagine, design and build an original structure. Space is limited and registration is required; visit the Children’s Information Desk at the library for a registration form. The Lego Design Contest will be on Saturday, July 26.
