ConteXtream, a leading provider of carrier-grade network virtualization solutions, today announced their co-founder, Sharon Barkai will be speaking on behalf of OpenDaylight at next week’s third annual SDN & NFV 2014 conference. Barkai will be delivering a presentation on Federated OpenDaylight for inline orchestration of carrier class network services, as well as participating on a panel discussion on the topic of standardization versus open-source. The conference takes place from September 15-17, 2014 and is co-located with the 11th Annual Ethernet World Congress in Nice, France.

This year’s conference will be shifting its focus from defining SDN and NFV to discussing how to implement the technology through analysis, insight and debate on key factors that prohibit widespread adoption. In addition, influencers from leading companies will roadmap the next generation of network infrastructure across industries, and discussions will be supplemented by live network deployment case-studies from Tier 1 and Tier 2 service providers, as well as companies like Google, eBay & Facebook.

WHO: Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream and senior representative for the OpenDaylight foundation. Barkai conceived of and began ConteXtream in 2006 after a career spent founding and managing highly successful technology companies. Before ConteXtream, he was founder & CEO of Xeround Systems, which developed an innovative map-reduce approach to performance and scalability. Prior to Xeround, Sharon was founder and CEO of Sheer Networks which developed a highly successful control & management plane for Consumer Broadband networks which was adopted by Tier 1 Operators worldwide. Cisco Systems bought Sheer Networks in 2005. Sharon began his career in Engineering at 3Com. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Hebrew University, and an MSc from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.
