Cultural Vistas is pleased to welcome 10 accomplished higher education professionals from across the United Kingdom to the United States for a two-week Higher Education Professionals Exchange Program focused on providing a broad overview of U.S. higher and international education, while also aiming to increase the number of U.K students who study in the United States.

The short-term exchange is sponsored by the Embassy of the United States in London and administered by Cultural Vistas in conjunction with the Embassy and the Fulbright Commission.

The diverse group begins their program in Washington, D.C., on August 2. After engaging in meetings in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, the group will then travel to New Orleans, Boston, and Chicago to learn about the emerging role of international partnerships and collaboration in higher education.

The participants will have the opportunity to visit a wide range of organizations and institutions, including the U.S. Department of State, Institute of International Education, American University, Goucher College, Tulane University, Harvard University, Northeastern University, the British Council, The Education Abroad Network, and the University of Chicago.

This program itinerary was designed to enable the participants to accomplish the following objectives:

Learn the structure of American universities and how they are managed
Learn best practices in developing international partnerships
Understand the diversity of students and universities in the United States
Develop the ability to apply information learned in the virtual classroom to real-life experiences
Build and develop a network of higher education professionals in the United States
Develop professional oral presentation skills, including effective use of Power Point
