San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 14, 2014

The U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit, the first such event of its kind and took place on August 4-8th and was the largest event any U.S. President has held with African heads of state and government. It built on the President’s trip to Africa in the summer of 2013 and aimed to strengthen ties between the United States and one of the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing regions. Got Produce?® founder and CEO, Deborah Walliser was one of 8 previous companies chosen to attend the first Obama led executive trade mission to sub- Saharan Africa.

With approximately 45 Heads of State and more than 100 Ministers in attendance, the week proved to be the strongest showing of African leadership in the U.S. at one time. CCA brought its members and others together with these leaders for a series of dialogues and targeted meetings, including a Business Forum, an African Ministerial Networking Reception and more than 10 special luncheons and dinners honoring African Heads of State.

Walliser was invited to attend the Presidential Luncheon with H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana and subsequently more on-on-one discussions with Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete hosted by Stratfor.

Because of earlier work in building greenhouses in Africa, Got Produce?® was one of the only American companies to be invited to speak on the following panel regarding opportunities in manufacturing and agriculture along with speakers from the World Bank, and East Africa Export Council. The importance of food security and economic stability were among the goals that can now be achieved using new technology and partnerships.

The session highlighted labor-intensive industries, avenues for reducing the cost of manufacturing in East Africa, and opportunities to divert US business partnerships from Asia to the East Africa.

Got Produce?® has Master Franchise and joint venture agreements for three of Africa’s largest regions totaling 17 countries in The east and western regions as well as Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa in the southern region. The level of contacts and negotiations at the summit solidified additional successful partnerships and opportunities for private and public support of additional greenhouses on the continent.

Got Produce?® is also working in Eastern Europe (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan) India, and Australia.
