Medical DNA Labs, LLC, An Affiliate of Physician Partners of America, has met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. Medical DNA Labs, LLC has earned COLA accreditation as a result of a long-term commitment to provide quality service to its patients.

Medical DNA Labs, LLC will specialize in pharmacogenetic testing which examines one’s genes to better understand how the body metabolizes medications. With a simple cheek swab, a patient’s DNA is collected and tested to determine which drugs are most effective for them. Everyone breaks down medication differently, and pharmacogenetic testing allow doctors to provide personalized treatment. Patients also benefit by avoiding the costs and potential side effects associated with a “trial-and-error” approach to prescribing medications.

“We are so proud to have received accreditation by COLA. At Medical DNA Labs, LLC, we strive to provide the highest quality services and best practices to our patients and the doctors who care for them. Excellence is the goal at Medical DNA Labs and all Physician Partners of America entities, and we will work tirelessly to maintain that standard,” stated Linda Abernathy, Medical DNA Labs, VP of Operations.

COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement, and accreditation.

COLA is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians American Society of Internal Medicine.
