Astoria, New York (PRWEB) November 15, 2014

Daily, family doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists around the world are challenged by patients suffering from pain, illness and dysfunction connected to problems relating to the musculoskeletal system.

Correct diagnosis and treatment of the source of these difficulties gives the practitioner the tools to relieve this suffering. One of the most vital of these tools is Fascial Manipulation.

This manual therapy method was developed by Italian physiotherapist and researcher, Luigi Stecco.

Dr. Antonio Stecco, Luigi’s son, is also a world-class authority on the fascial system and the application of the fascial manipulation method originally outlined by his father.

Dr. Stecco was recently elected Assistant-President in the Cabinet of the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also the author of 10 articles in journals, five abstracts presented at national conferences, 12 abstracts presented at international conferences, including one Best Poster Award and three chapters in English text. He is also co-author of Fascial Manipulation for Musculoskeletal Pain.

Hands-On Seminars is pleased to offer Fascial Manipulation Certification training to be taught by Dr. Antonio Stecco. This program combines theoretical lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises throughout each course day.

Participants will learn to evaluate musculoskeletal dysfunctions with specific reference to the human fascial system, and to apply the Fascial Manipulation method as created by Luigi Stecco, PT. Lectures include the anatomy and physiology of the fascial system, an explanation of the biomechanical model used in application of this technique, and the anatomical localization of key fascial points. Emphasis will be placed on the evaluation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions (from history taking, to a hypothesis, to a verification and treatment) together with a methodology and strategy for treatment.

Some of the information and skills students will learn during this course are:

The anatomy and physiology of the fascial system

How to evaluate myofascial planes: upper and lower extremities, spine

Determining functional testing of areas of complaint

The skill and understanding to assess abnormal functional findings with fascial points of involvement to restore normal function

This course consists of two levels: Level 1 Fascial Manipulation© and Level 2 Fascial Manipulation©. Each level is divided into two parts, FM-1a, FM-1b, and FM-2a, FM-2b.

These certification courses will be available in New York starting early 2015.

Level 1A Fascial Manipulation 3/13/15

Level 1B Fascial Manipulation 4/17/15

Level 2A Fascial Manipulation 9/25/15

Successful completion of Level 1 is required before attending Level 2.
