New Providence, New Jersey (PRWEB) May 14, 2015

The Summit Medical Group Foundation (“SMGF”) will hold its annual Gala, Saturday, June 6, 6:00 p.m. at The Grove, 691 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Hosted by Andy Cohen, executive producer and host of “Watch What Happens Live” Bravo’s late night, interactive talk show, the evening will feature musical guest Laura Bell Bundy, Tony-nominated Broadway star, recording artist, and film and television actress, as well as cocktails, dinner, and live auction.

For his 25 years of healthcare leadership, the Foundation will honor Jeffery Le Benger, M.D., FACS, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Summit Medical Group, PA and Summit Health Management, LLC.

Founded in 1929, Summit Medical Group (SMG) is the largest and oldest physician-owned multispecialty medical practice in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area and among the largest in the nation. In the last 15 years, Dr. Le Benger navigated SMG’s dramatic transition from a small medical practice to a comprehensive, integrated delivery system with more than 550 providers, 70 locations, and 1.2 million annual patient visits. SMG’s coordinated model of care has simultaneously improved care for individuals, lowered costs of care, and improved care quality. Recognized for its consistent and progressive contributions to the state’s economic growth, SMG has been named one of New Jersey’s “50 Fastest Growing Companies” by NJBiz magazine for the last eight consecutive years.

Under Dr. Le Benger’s leadership in 2014, Summit Medical Group also created Summit Health Management (SHM), a new management services company. Emerging from the success of SMG, SHM offers an entrepreneurial model of management services to physician practices across the United States.

Dr. Le Benger earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed two residencies at Mount Sinai Medical Center in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, respectively. He is board certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Committed to high professional standards, Dr. Le Benger has achieved Fellowship status with the American College of Surgeons, American Rhinologic Society and American Society of Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Le Benger is the recipient of the MDx Medical, Inc. “Patients Choice” award and is featured in the New Jersey Family “NJ’s Favorite Kids’ Docs” listing. He has been recognized as a New Jersey Monthly “Top Doctor” for the last five consecutive years and is included on the 2015 NJBiz “Power 100” (No. 16) and the 2014 and 2015 “Power 50 in Health Care” (No. 8) lists. He has also been nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for the past two years and is a nominee for the 2015 NJBiz Healthcare Hero award.

“We are looking forward to an exciting and inspiring event,” notes Rebecca Levy, Esq., SMGF Gala committee co-chair. ”The funds raised from this event will be used to support the long-term benefit of educating the next generation of health care professionals, and to promoting health and wellness in areas of New Jersey where access to comprehensive health care is diminished or unavailable.”

Founded in 2013, SMGF’s mission is to enrich community members through health promotion, medical research and medical education. In its first year of operation, SMGF launched its ”Next Generation Careers in Medicine” program, inspiring students from area high schools to become the next generation of medical professionals. Future plans include orchestrating SMG specialists to volunteer and provide medical care in underserved areas. For more than 85 years, Summit Medical Group has been the premier multispecialty group in New Jersey. SMG has long recognized its responsibility to improve and strengthen its communities above and beyond providing healthcare services. Focusing on outreach, education, partnerships and research, the Foundation provides a platform for SMG to formalize its charitable initiatives and leverage its considerable talent, expertise, and resources.
