New York, NY (PRWEB) February 03, 2015

Spheryx, Inc. is pleased to announce that an article submitted by David Grier, co-founder of Spheryx and Professor of Physics at New York University, has been selected to be the cover article in its 10th Anniversary Issue of Soft Matter, a journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry. The image on the cover is a representation of the data from Spheryx’s Total Holographic Characterization™.

The article shows how Spheryx’s technology for Total Holographic Characterization™ can guide the design and synthesis of colloidal materials by rapidly measuring the properties of individual colloidal particles. The citation for the article is “Celebrating Soft Matter’s 10th Anniversary: Monitoring colloidal growth with holographic microscopy” by Chen Wang, Hagay Shpaisman, Andrew D. Hollingsworth and David G. Grier, Soft Matter, 2015, vol. 11, pgs. 1062-1066.

Spheryx CEO, Dr. Laura Philips, stated “It is wonderful to see that this revolutionary technology is receiving such recognition. We look forward to continuing to demonstrate the power of the technology in commercial applications pursued by Spheryx.” Prof. Grier replied, “It’s always exciting when academic research breaks through into the real world. Having this work honored by Soft Matter at the same time that Spheryx is bringing it to market is just exceptional.” The underlying work for the article was supported primarily by a grant from Procter & Gamble™, and in part by NASA and the National Science Foundation.” The technology described in the article is exclusively licensed to Spheryx, Inc. where it is being developed for a variety of commercial applications.
