Byron, California (PRWEB) June 27, 2014

The Patriots Jet Team Foundation will host its annual fundraising gala on August 9th at the Patriots Jet Center in Byron, California. The all-volunteer, non-profit organization provides inspiring math and science instruction to students through its innovative AeroSTEM programs.

The gala will include dinner, cocktails, and silent and live auctions. Guests will marvel at an authentic MiG-17 fighter jet display, and peruse exhibits from the foundation’s Aerospace Academy. Former NASA astronaut Jose Hernandez, founder of the Reaching for the Stars Foundation in Stockton, will be the keynote speaker. Hernandez, who was raised as a migrant farm worker, will speak about his long struggle to become an electrical engineer and astronaut, and his mission to help bring stimulating, hands-on math and science programs to America’s disadvantaged students.

“The Patriots Jet Team Foundation is honored to partner with astronaut Jose Hernandez and local supporters to host this year’s fundraising gala,” says David Ringler, Patriots Jet Team Foundation spokesperson. “We remain committed to our mission to inspire and challenge this country’s youth, and to promote the future of aviation, aerospace, and STEM education in our public schools.”

The Patriots Jet Team Foundation 2014 Benefit Gala will be held August 9th from 5-10 p.m. at the Patriots Jet Center in the Byron Airport, 760 Osprey Court, Byron, California 94514.
