Running a mobile car washer detailing business sounds like a very simple thing to do, but is it really? Over the years having been in that industry and running my own rig for 15 years, before eventually franchising the business in the 23 states in 450 cities, I worked hard every day to perfect the business and make it the most efficient possible. Not only on the operations side of the business, but with respect to every single possible detail.

You see, there’s quite a bit to it, and as I was franchising this business, we have created a 1500 page manual, and I told all of our franchisees that they had to read it. Many of them looked at it and thought this is ridiculous; mobile car washing and mobile detailing is not rocket science. Of course, I retorted back; “Who Says There is No Rocket Science or Physics in Mobile Auto Detailing or Car Washing?” There certainly is the way we do it. Further, in reality it’s all physics as I see it!

When you work in a business that has pressure washers that pump out hot water you are working with the very forces that shaped the Grand Canyon. And you are literally controlling the physics of the high-pressure water coming at the end of a small nozzle. Interestingly enough, rocket science is all about forcing the energy and power out of the back of a very small nozzle at the back of a rocket.

Perhaps, one of the reasons we were so successful against the competition is that we took it seriously, even though it seems like such a simple business model. There is something you can learn from all this. When you are in business; pay attention to the details, and you can take your business into orbit. Please consider all this.
